Job Title:Patient Care Associate – Labor & Delivery

Shift & Schedule:

Shift Time: 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Days Per Week: 5
Hours Per Day: 8 (40 hours/week)
Rotating weekends and holidays are required.

Pay Rate:

$30 – $32 per hour

Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse or professional medical staff, the Patient Care Associate – Labor & Delivery performs a variety of clerical and patient-care duties to support effective clinical operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Checking vital signs, weight, height, and recording patient information
Assisting in specimen collection and basic lab testing (dipstick, hemoccult)
Conducting vision, hearing, and simple urinalysis tests
Providing basic first aid and support (e.g., dressing wounds, ear irrigation)
Preparing patients and examination rooms for procedures
Assisting medical staff during examinations
Educating patients about test preparations and specimen collection
Maintaining and updating patient charts and documents
Escorting patients within the facility as needed
Managing supply inventories and stocking examination rooms
Collecting blood specimens via venipuncture and fingerstick
Performing EKGs using electrocardiograph equipment
Answering routine inquiries and coordinating with departments for scheduling

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of NYS DOH-approved Phlebotomy training
Completion of healthcare-based EKG training
Valid AHA BLS Certification

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
