Job description
We are looking for an energetic Scrub Nurse (RPN) who will grow with our business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing care to patients while adhering to compliance standards. The job description of a scrub nurse entails setting up of the operating room prior to the time an operation is to be carried out. Works with the doctor in the course of the surgical procedure and helps to prepare the patient before he/she is transferred to the recovery unit.
Responsibilities
- Assists the surgical team during surgical procedure.
- Ensures that the operating room remains clean and is made ready for the surgical procedure; that equipment required is sterilized.
- Accounts for all the tools used during surgical procedures, such as the needles, sponges, and other instruments.
- Adorns sterile garments prior to the surgical procedure, while also helping other members of the surgical team to do the same.
- Support the surgeon and also maintain safety of the patient
- Should work with speed and efficiency and be precise
- Properly monitor surgical procedures and make sure all tools meant to be used remain sterile all through the procedure
- Help in applying dressing to the area of wounds and incisions
- Restock all supplies once they are used on a periodic basis
- Giving preoperative instructions.
- Preparing patients for surgery.
- Assisting the Anaesthetist and Surgeons when needed
Qualifications

- Must be a Registered Practical Nurse with current license
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Operating Room Nurse Certificate
- Ability to work weekends
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong time management capabilities
- Alert and responsive in emergency situations
- Operating Room Nurse clinical experience
