Assistant Controller

We seek a motivated, thoughtful, and detail-oriented candidate to join our 42-person office as an Assistant Controller.
Knowledge of Deltek Vision is preferred. Project-based accounting experience is preferred, particularly within the architecture or construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Deltek Vision accounting software, spreadsheets, and various databases to efficiently update and post financial transactions.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure transaction accuracy.
- Oversee accounts payable duties, including recording vendor invoices and calculating payment percentages owed to subcontractors.
- Manage accounts receivable tasks, such as creating and dispatching client invoices and maintaining communication with clients.
- Review timesheets for accuracy and process payroll with external service.
- Administer project details within the accounting software.
- Assist in project budgeting and prepare monthly reports for Project Managers as needed.
- Work closely with Project Managers to address project updates and process adjustments.
- Compile and present weekly and monthly financial reports to the principal(s).
- Generate key financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 5 years work experience. A strong knowledge of accounting systems, payroll and budgeting
· Able to maintain momentum of the firm’s big picture goals as well as jump into day-to-day tasks.
· Knowledge of Deltek Vision accounting software is a plus but not required
