Crosslinx Transit Solutions Maintenance (CTSM) is currently seeking a Plumber (Facility Maintenance Technician) who will play a significant role as a member of our Maintenance team. The incumbent will act as a Building Operator, with a focus and expertise in Plumbing work. This is a long-term career opportunity in an exciting growing industry.
The incumbent will be responsible to assist with the operation, preventative/corrective maintenance, service calls, emergency response, troubleshooting and repair of facility equipment and systems on the 24/7 maintenance operation of the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Line (ECLRT) in Toronto, Ontario. The incumbent must be willing to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Responsibilities:
Respond and attend to facility-related service and emergency calls during their shift.
Perform escort requirements of all contractors and monitor their work. Ensure contractors follow safety rules and security procedures.
Assist other trades and the other Facility Maintenance Technicians in the performance of their general and preventative maintenance and repair duties.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plumbing systems and fixtures
Clear blocked drains of various sizes using drain machines. Service and maintain storm/sewage sump pits.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems with circulating and submersible sump pumps ranging from 1.5 HP to 30 HP.
Inspect, troubleshoot and service hydronic systems, plumbing systems and fixtures complying with and meeting all applicable standards, legislation, Codes and regulations, such as the Ontario Building Code.
Reading blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems, water supply network, waste and drainage systems.
Comply with safety policies and legislation to ensure the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials, and maintain a clean and safe workplace.
Process and submit Work Orders, and work with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Plumber or in a similar role
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Commercial driving experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely

Pay: $46.27 per hour
