Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent data entry skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Duties
- Process daily cash receipts for tenant payments and ensure proper posting to correct cash accounts and tenant charges
- Record returned tenant payments
- Communicate to tenants when short payments occur
- Process tenant billing for utilities and other charges
- Reconcile tenant accounts when required and respond to tenant inquiries
- Maintain security deposit reports to properly track incoming and outing tenant security deposits for proper account reconciliation and application
- Create and manage tenant security deposit escrow accounts, ensure tenant security deposit transactions are accurately allocated to sub accounts, and ensure tenant w9’s are sent to bank along with new sub account creations
- Maintain Utility record reports to ensure all utilities are timely paid and tenants are accurately and timely billed
- Enter Vendor Invoices for Utility accounts and other vendors, ensuring proper allocation of expenses to properties, vendors and general ledger.
- Review and reconcile invoices for accuracy and Investigate and resolve any invoice discrepancies.
- Utilize accounting software to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Provide support in the preparation of financial reports as needed.
Requirements
- Proficient in accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation is preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting software; experience with PeopleSoft or UltiPro is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing individual responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in accounts payable or accounts receivable roles is advantageous.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
