Position: Registered Nurse – Day Program
Department: Healthcare Services
Location: New York, NY
Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM
Hours Per Week: 35-40
Hourly Pay: $48
Overview:
The Registered Nurse – Day Program is responsible for coordinating healthcare services for individuals within a day program setting. This includes providing medical care, staff training, medication management, and supporting individuals' overall health and well-being.
Requirements:
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
- CPR/BLS Certification (AHA preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- 1-2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare or community-based setting
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and follow through on healthcare services for individuals in the day program.
- Arrange medical services and referrals as needed and follow up on medical concerns.
- Conduct staff training in medical administration, hygiene, infection control, and first aid.
- Manage communicable diseases by identifying, assessing, and reporting to consulting physicians.
- Prepare and maintain medical documentation for each individual served.
- Administer medications and supervise certified staff in medication administration.
- Provide first aid and emergency care, referring individuals to outside services as needed.
- Supervise and train less experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).
- Maintain nursing office and order medical supplies as necessary.
- Transport individuals to appointments when necessary.
- Keep abreast of changes in nursing practices and adhere to regulatory standards.
- Attend team meetings and participate in case reviews as required.
- Visit individuals at home as requested by the Director or designee.
- Perform other duties as assigned to maintain high-quality care.
