Job Title: Electrical Field Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Electrical Field Engineer to facilitate electrical building system startups and commissioning activities. You will provide subject matter expert assistance in reviewing product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, engineering design drawings, and specifications. Additionally, you will coordinate with contractors, vendors, and plant facilities groups to ensure seamless delivery, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
Responsibilities
Facilitate electrical building system startups and commissioning activities.
Review product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, engineering design drawings, and specifications.
Ensure adherence to safety procedures, safe work practices, and OSHA requirements for electrical installations including Lock-Out, Electrical Safe Work Practices, Control of Hazardous Energy, and arc flash safety.
Apply extensive knowledge of prevailing building codes and professional industry standards.
Coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover to end users.
Coordinate weekend and plant shutdown work with contractors, plant facilities groups, and manufacturing shops.
Conduct continuous work progress inspections.
Support construction administration activities related to schedule coordination, quality confirmations, weekly coordination meetings, and planned utility outages.
Inspect and observe electrical building systems for compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes.
Oversee electrical contractors for adherence to project delivery methods, schedule milestone targets, and coordination with other groups.
Prepare field engineering status reports of work progress and schedule to Project Managers.
Provide input and feedback to improve project technical specifications and standards.
Essential Skills
5-10 years of professional experience with at least 2 years in construction management.
Experience in design criteria development for electrical systems.
Automotive experience with engine, transmission, or vehicle facilities or similar industrial manufacturer.
5+ years in the electrical design field.
Proficient organizational, communication, and schedule management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with software such as Bluebeam and AutoCAD.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Multi-Disciplinary Experience (civil, electrical, etc.).
Toyota Kanban experience.
Experience with startup and commissioning of substations and/or mechanical equipment.
Work Environment
This position is onsite. We offer a great work/life balance, good culture, flexibility, and independence. You will receive 10 PTO days and 9 paid holidays per year. Hours worked over 40 are compensated at time and a half. Travel for contractors is fully covered.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
