High school diploma/GED.
Preferred:
College degree in a technical field with a strong mechanical/electrical aptitude;
ASQ certification;
AAR/ISO Auditor training.

Key Job Elements:
Process - documented process and policies are essential to quality assurance. Manager's will prepare and update quality documentation, based on ISO 9000- Quality Management to ensure PRS processes also comply with our Customers quality standards. Ensure that employees have been properly trained to perform their job duties as well as prepare for quality audits.
Training - Ensure employees working in production are aware of the quality requirements and train them in best practices. Aim to make production employees responsible for managing their own quality standards. Promote a culture of quality in new product lines and developing new procedures.
Suppliers - Work with suppliers to help formulate quality standards for the goods. Ensure that incoming components and materials will comply with the manufactures' quality standards, minimize the time and cost of inspection and contribute to the quality of the finished product.
Improvement - Review statistical data from the production lines to identify quality problems. Analyze records of return for specific problems or trends over time. Develop and monitor continuous improvement programs, aiming to reduce the number of defects and improve levels of quality. Continuous quality improvement reduces manufacturing costs and improves overall product quality.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Team - Supervise teams of inspectors who carry out the detailed assessment of products and their components at different stages of production.
Qualifications and Experience:
Competencies; Technical Capacity. Organizational Skills. Problem Solving/Analytical. Customer/Client Focus. Time Management. Collaboration. Performance Management. Leadership;
3 years' experience and technical knowledge with product/service area or locomotive components;
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and with customers;
Able to manage and train others in the continuing implementation and maintenance of the quality management system;
Knowledge and background in OSHA;
Quality assurance experience in manufacturing or locomotive components;
Computer skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook;
Knowledge of statistical and analytical problem solving techniques (preferred);
Capable in developing and implementing manufacturing process instructions.
