Ironworks Inc. is currently seeking a dependable,
detail-orientedFabrication Shop Laborerto support our fabrication
team. This is an entry-level position offering a chance to build skills
in metalworking. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, thrives in
a hands-on environment, and takes pride in helping produce high-quality
steel components.
Primary Responsibilities
Grinding, Wire tool cleaning, Prime painting
Operate hand-held grinders to smooth and finish steel parts.
Remove weld spatter, rust, and other surface imperfections to meet
blueprint or spec requirements.
Apply stamps, markings, or labels to identify finished products.
Assist in preparing parts for welding and fabrication by cleaning or
positioning materials.
Use an electric sprayer to prime paint steel assemblies
Material Handling
Safely lift, carry, or move steel parts and assemblies by hand or
with mechanical assistance.
Organize materials and workpieces in designated staging areas.
Help load/unload parts to and from machines, welding tables, or
storage racks.
Packaging & Shipping Support
Package completed parts for shipment, ensuring protective wrapping
and accurate labeling.
Prepare skids, crates, or containers as needed.
Housekeeping & Equipment Maintenance
Keep workstations, benches, and common areas clean and free from
obstructions.
Assist in the maintenance of tools and equipment (cleaning, minor
repairs, and routine inspections).
Safety & Team Participation
Always wear required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots,
hearing protection).
Follow all shop safety rules, including lockout/tagout and safe
lifting procedures.
Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and supervisors to meet
production deadlines.
