Description
Stick Welding
Multi-pass. All positions fillet and butt welds using the SMAW process.
Ability to fuse inserts and weld carbon steel, stainless steel and copper nickel pipe using both SMAW and GTAW processes.
Ability to mirror weld using SMAW and GTAW processes.
Heating - Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.
Ability to properly use fillet gauges, butt gauges, and a six inch scale.
Ability to pass computer based training (CBT's)
Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
