JOB OVERVIEW
The IT Specialist will serve as the primary point-of-contact, advisor
and troubleshooter for the Strength Maintenance Training Center
regarding all IT, network and telecommunication issues. This will be
accomplished by ensuring automated tracking, classroom presentations and
processing are unhindered. The IT Specialist deploys and maintains
400-plus computer systems. In addition, monitors and evaluates
performance and compliance of automated system users, communicates
technical information to operators, and develops training solutions to
enhance performance where necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for providing on-site support of clients\' computers,
servers, and network infrastructure (imaging computers, account
lockouts, printer issues, hardware failure, etc.).
In coordination with the SMTB Supply NCO manage IT inventory to
ensure accurate accountability of all equipment.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve basic issues with client
computers, servers, devices, peripherals, and networking equipment -
both remotely and on-site at client\'s facilities.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting and documentation of services
and time spent servicing customers.
Collaborate with team members to help identify, develop, and
document processes, procedures, and work instructions.
Operate as a SMTB IT Service (help) Desk while working as part of
the designated IT team for the same services and act as an
escalation point for more complex technical problems or for required
higher level technicians\' assistance
Assist in customer projects (e.g., Mobile Training Team IT Support,
classroom reconfigurations, system administration, server and
network administration, management, systems deployments, etc.)
assigned.
Will also be responsible for providing IT training (to include
instructing in the SMTB Automations/Information Technology
Specialist Course) and support.
(PWS) IT Specialist shall develop automation requirements to carry
out SMTB operations in all areas involving computerized resources
for recruiting and retention, including, but not limited to: ARISS
Architecture; LEADS/REPORTS accession software and Recruiter
Workstation Platforms; Mission/Production/Awards (MPA) software;
Force Structure and Zip Code Realignment (FAZR) software; Top of
System web-based reporting systems; and Public Key Infrastructure.
(PWS) The IT Specialist shall also provide support to students with
laptop computer problems; coordinate with PEC-IM Directorate for the
maintenance and expansion of SMTB network (s); support the various
multi-media devices used by the SMTB, both in-house and by Mobile
Training Teams. The IT Specialist shall be the central point of
contact for all questions concerning automation training for SMTB
staff.
The Contractor shall assist the SMTB with accessions systems
software loads, configuration, and unit connectivity issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor\'s Degree in an applicable field. Additional years of
experience may be substituted for years of experience.
Minimum of 3 years of IT focused experience.
Security+ Certification.
Computing Environment Course or ARNG Recruiting and Retention
Automation NCO Course (Within 6 months of hire or next available).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Physical Requirements: Work may or may not be performed sitting at a
desk. Individual experiences typical ergonomic physical demands
associated with computer installation, which may include constant
positioning self to maintain computers in the classroom, including under
the desks and in the server closet. Frequently, Audio/Visual equipment
weighing up to 50 pounds across campus for various classrooms and
event\'s needs.
Environmental Conditions: The work environment involves everyday risks
or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions in typical office
settings. The work area is adequately lit, heated/cooled, and vented.
