Position Summary:
The Risk Management Analyst is responsible for recognizing and evaluating potential risks that may affect our organization or patient safety. The Risk Management Analyst will implement strategies to manage or eliminate potential risks.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience
Previous nursing experience in
hospital setting
required.
Three (3) years in Risk Management or patient safety experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Current South Carolina or compact state
licensure as a Registered Nurse (
SCLLR) in good standing required.
Certification (
CPHRM) is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and regulatory requirements.
Assesses the effectiveness of existing risk procedures and
suggest improvements.
Reviews occurrence reports and works with responsible parties to ensure appropriate follow-up.
Maintains administrative functions of
occurrence reporting system.
Creates and disseminates detailed and trending reports from
occurrence reporting system.
Conducts medical record reviews and otherwise supports
Chief Legal Officer with clinical information.
Demonstrates the ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
Establishes cooperative relationships with various departments to ensure effective risk management practices.
Identifies trends by investigating reports, claims, and other data.
Assists Chief Legal Officer with claims management functions.
Is proficient with data display and analysis.
Ensures compliance with safety regulations.
Greets all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and
provide exemplary customer service.
Works effectively and collaboratively with colleagues, physicians, and department heads.
Effectively
utilizes strong organizational skills.
Consistently displays effective verbal communication skills.
Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills
required.
Regularly
exercises independent
judgement.
Completes other duties as assigned by department leadership.
