Job Summary:
The Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for procuring materials, equipment, and services essential for operating, maintaining, and developing electric utility infrastructure. This role includes evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing inventory, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality goods. The Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist also oversees the organization and functionality of all warehouses, ensuring proper storage, tracking, and distribution of materials. Collaboration with engineering, operations, and finance departments is key to forecasting needs, monitoring supplier performance, and maintaining regulatory and safety standards.
Responsibilities Include:
Procure materials, equipment, and services to support electric utility operations, maintenance, and infrastructure development.
Create and manage purchase orders for operations, office needs, and subsidiary locations.
Maintain all utility warehouses, ensuring proper inventory control, material tracking, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.
Receive, process, and distribute incoming orders for the South Pittsburg Office.
Track vehicle maintenance costs and prioritize fleet replacement schedules to support operational efficiency.
Manage and maintain the Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) system for fleet tracking and safety.
Oversee and maintain accurate operational and office inventory levels.
Collaborate with the Senior Engineer to acquire materials for capital and large-scale infrastructure projects.
Facilitate the inventory management system for capital assets, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and lifecycle tracking.
Assist with after-hours power restoration efforts, coordinating material needs and support services.
Maintain and support the utility's radio communication system to ensure effective field operations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree or its equivalent is required.
Three years of procurement or utility warehouse management experience is preferred.
The ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Expert planning, interpersonal, and organizational skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required.
Must have the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
High level of independence and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Required to obtain and maintain a valid Tennessee driver's license.
Must live in the SVEC area or be willing to relocate to the SVEC area.
