The Dining Storeroom Receiver is responsible for the organized and
detailed accounting of all incoming and outgoing food supplies and
equipment for the dining services team. This position will manage the
inventory and record keeping, rotating of stock, cost comparisons and
timely distribution of all provisions. This position must also comply
with applicable sanitation, health and safety guidelines and assist with
meeting the overall objectives of the dining services department.

Shift: (full-time, 40 hours/week)
Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
Key Responsibilities
Proper receiving of deliveries and proper handling and storage of
all foods and equipment. Keep dry food dry and free of damaged
packaging. Maintain proper temperature of cold food received and
verify that all products are satisfactory upon delivery. Report all
damaged products or discrepancies to management immediately.
Keep food and paper storerooms, loading dock, refrigerators, freezer
and hallways neat and clean at all times to ensure a safe and
sanitary operation.
Responsible for rotating all items received for freshness.
Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of all received
and distributed items. Responsible for monthly inventories.
Delivery of all food, supplies and equipment as required by the
department on a daily basis.
Work closely with management to ensure an orderly and efficient
operation.
Responsible for awareness of scheduled catering functions.
Responsible for executing functions as assigned.
Operate assigned vehicles as required to assist with transport of
goods/personnel to designated areas and/or to facilitate execution
of job functions. Report any mechanical defects in the vehicle to
the supervisor. Responsible for the gassing and maintaining of the
dining services delivery van.
Responsible for the cleaning and condition of all storeroom hand
trucks, dollies and carts. Responsible for reporting any work orders
needed for the replacement or repair of all walls, pipes, ceilings,
shelving, lights, outlets, equipment etc. in the storerooms,
refrigeration or loading dock areas.
Provide general guidance and assistance to students/summer and
temporary workers regarding work assignments.
Responsible for monitoring certain refrigeration temperatures and
reporting all discrepancies to management immediately.
Responsible for the proper delivery and set-up of assigned functions
as well as picking up said functions. Responsible for the inventory
of equipment when picking up a function and for reporting any
damaged or missing equipment to the dining services administrative
assistant immediately.
Promote a positive and congenial atmosphere and working relationship
with students, employees, supervisors and other individuals that
this position may come in contact with. Work effectively with other
personnel to complete/coordinate designated duties.
Maintain proper care of equipment. Report necessary equipment repair
and maintenance to management in a timely manner.
Adhere to proper dress code requirements, as determined by season
and function.
Comply with established sanitation standards and health standards
for kitchen and kitchen storage areas. Observe proper food
preparation, handling and storage techniques.
Follow established safety rules and regulations including using
appropriate guards and safety devices on all equipment. Maintain a
safe and clean work environment. Keep informed of all material
safety data sheets. Attend and successfully complete/pass
College-sponsored safety classes and seminars.
Use proper judgment in work assignments on a daily basis and
recommend improvements in work efficiency. Effectively manage own
time.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.
