Responsibilities
The Mayo Clinic Histology Laboratory handles a variety of specimens including surgical, autopsy, and research material. The function of this dynamic team is to assist the Pathologist in the diagnosis of the patient through the preparation of tissue slides. If you would find contributing to the accurate diagnosis of the patient and the expansion of scientific knowledge rewarding, please consider joining this team in the Quality Assurance Assistant role.
As a Quality Assurance Assistant working within Histology, you will support the following operational and management activities:
Regulatory compliance
Licensure and accreditation
Inspections and auditing
Sample management
Quality and operational metrics
Event management
Document and records management
Education and training programs
Continuous Improvement
Customer service

*Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to apply to other positions within Mayo Clinic.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position you must meet one of the following:
High school diploma or GED with 2 years relevant experience
Associate degree
Additional Qualifications
Experience within the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DLMP) preferred.
Experience in a laboratory quality, or administrative assistant role preferred.
You must have a strong background in basic computer programs utilized in DLMP, such as Microsoft Office.
This role will require you to be self-motivated, dependable, and have the ability to work independently and multi-task to meet deadlines.
Additional skills necessary to work with and include problem-solving, human relations, communication, organizational skills are needed to interact with various levels of personnel.
