Job Description
Travel primarily to customers in Latin America to assist with installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of equipment. Perform start-up and service calls to extruder plants ensuring the equipment is operating properly. Collaborate with two other service technicians, the engineering team, and the assembly team. Respond to service calls for client orders, questions, feedback, parts, etc. Inspect installation of production line including electrical connections and transitions. Partner with the sales team to support product development and prospects. Be in charge of documentation and writing reports of all client site visits. Maintain customer relationships by following up regularly with customers to ensure equipment is operating at optimum performance.
Responsibilities
Travel to customer sites primarily in Latin America for equipment installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Perform start-up and service calls to extruder plants, ensuring proper equipment operation.
Collaborate with service technicians, engineering, and assembly teams.
Respond to service calls related to client orders and feedback.
Inspect production line installations, including electrical connections and layout.
Partner with sales to support product development and prospects.
Document and write reports of all client site visits.
Maintain customer relationships through regular follow-ups.
Essential Skills
Fluent in Spanish with the ability to translate and discuss technical terminology.
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with power tools.
Comfortable with HMI Interfaces and VFDs.
Ability to travel internationally 25% of the time.
Experience in PLC programming.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office for presentations and report writing.
Associate's degree with a technical focus or a bachelor's degree in industrial technology.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
BSME is a plus.
Curious and adaptable personality.
Experience in R&D is advantageous.
Work Environment
Travel 25% of the time, primarily to Argentina, Mexico, and the Philippines, with a focus on Latin America.
Must have a passport and a clean background for international access.
Primarily based onsite in Urbandale with two other service technicians.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
