Key Accountabilities:
Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists, and verify parts clearances
Fasten and install piping, fixtures, or wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies
Rework, repair, and replace damaged parts or assemblies
Read and interpret assembly blueprints and specifications manuals, and plan assembly or building operations
Verify conformance of parts to stock lists and blueprints, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers
Maintain and lubricate parts and components
Assemble systems of gears by aligning and meshing gears in gearboxes
Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer specifications
Keep Team Leader abreast of progress, developments and pending problems
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
Identify and reduce non-value-added work
Perform special projects as may be required and maintain on the job flexibility by providing support in assembly and other production related areas
Basic Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED and 2 years in a mechanical, engine or automotive trade school or equivalent associate's degree; or 3 years of experience in a durable goods assembly or manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods
Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Basic knowledge of engine control systems, design, assembly and function
Basic knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards
Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Basic interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other employees in a team atmosphere
Basic ability to interpret control plans, blueprints, build documents, schematic drawings, layouts, documents regarding engine assembly and testing and quality requirements (Quality Alerts, Second Checks, etc.)
Basic oral and written communication skills
Basic reading, writing and math skills
Basic PC knowledge and the ability to efficiently operate computer terminals and scanning device
Ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communications. Knowledge of MTU products, policies and procedures
Experience in engine control systems, design, function and assembly, including marine applications
Ability to obtain appropriate power vehicle license (Flatbed, Hi-Lo, & Mule) when necessary
Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
