We are now hiring an experienced ICU/CCU Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Shiprock - Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, NM. You will be responsible for providing quality patient care in an IHS Critical Access Hospital setting and will work closely with the healthcare team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. The Northern Navajo medical Center is 60 bed, TJC- TJC-accredited acute care hospital associated with an Emergency Department (ED), and an Outpatient Department (OPD). The NNMC Emergency Department (ED) provides emergency medical treatment 24 hours a day, seven days a week to patients of all ages. In 2021, NNMC Emergency Room was designated as a Level IV trauma center. This designation increases access to trauma care in a rural setting and ensures optimal care to those who are seriously injured. Furthermore, the NNMC ED is certified as Peds Ready by the New Mexico Emergency Medical Services for Children and the University of New Mexico Child Ready Program. This certification ensures effective emergency care for children. This is a long-term travel contract up to 1 year, with extension options
• Long-term Contract 13 weeks up to 1 year with Extension options
• 12-hour shifts
• Level IV Trauma center
• Can work on any US license
• ACLS, BLS, Required, PALS preferred
• Travel Experience Preferred
• 2+ years of experience as an ER, ICU, PCU or CCU RN Required
• Must be a Registered Nurse, RN
• ADN Required or BSN Preferred
• Previous IHS experience Helpful
Duties
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of the patient's health status and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health management.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Perform procedures such as catheterization, medical imaging, and other interventions as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a safe and effective healthcare environment.
Experience
Candidates should have a valid nursing license with experience in an Acute Care setting. ICU or Critical care experience is needed.
Familiarity with computer charting systems. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure are essential for success in this role.

Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) required
- Minimum of (2) two years’ experience required
- Nursing experience in an Acute Care Setting required
- Critical Care experience required
- Graduated from a National League of Nursing Accredited Nursing Program
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree, or Diploma from an accredited professional nursing education program is required.
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
- Applicant must have active and unrestricted, current licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse (RN) in any State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and schedules
- Must be a US citizen living primarily in the United States
- Must be willing to pass a federal background check
