This individual will be a key member of a growing team and will provide day-to-day execution of electrical engineering and design work for power delivery facilities, specifically substations, solar, battery storage, and hydropower stations. Cross training between multiple power delivery projects and the ability to cross train in different areas such as substation, power generation and distribution.
Job Description:
Preparing detailed design packages for new and modifications to existing power delivery facilities; projects include new solar and battery storage facilities across the country.
Modification projects could include relay protection upgrades, control system upgrades, substation upgrades, excitation, governor, and power system upgrades
Engineering calculation reports such as load flow, short circuit, grounding and arc flash studies
Major plant equipment specification such as generators, oil-filled and dry-@type transformers, medium and low voltage motors, switchgear, motor control centers, PLC and DCS control systems
Coordinating power plant electrical engineering design effort with other disciplines and project personnel
Performing cable, raceway and equipment sizing calculations
Cable and conduit schedules and routing drawings
Developing input and output (I/O) list and interface with the plant control system
Skills Needed:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
1+ year of experience in the Power & Utilities industry.
Knowledge in substation engineering and P&C (Protection & Control) or Physical systems.
EIT required, PE is a plus
Familiarity with equipment like MCC (Motor Control Centers)
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
