Job Title: Electrical Designer
Job Description
This role involves creating electrical designs with a focus on power distribution, low voltage infrastructure for IT and security systems, and lighting design. The Electrical Designer will be responsible for selecting fixtures, performing lighting calculations, designing low-voltage systems such as fire alarms and security controls, calculating loads, fault current, and voltage drop, and conducting field surveys and providing support during the construction phase.
Responsibilities
Design power distribution systems, including riser diagrams and panel schedules.
Develop low voltage infrastructure designs for IT and security systems.
Create lighting designs, including fixture selection and controls.
Design low-voltage systems, including fire alarm and security controls.
Calculate electrical loads, fault current, and voltage drop.
Conduct field surveys and provide support during the construction phase.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Revit for electrical design.
Experience in power distribution and low-voltage systems.
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and standard industry design practices.
Strong teamwork, communication, and client relationship skills.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) Certification.
Strong work ethic and solid organizational skills.
Work Environment
The office is composed of 10 employees and has a bullpen-like setup, fostering a very family-oriented atmosphere. After demonstrating competence, there is an opportunity for a hybrid work model. Employees are involved in capital expenditure projects across multiple states, and generous full-time benefits are provided. Relocation packages may be offered to candidates willing to move to Lawrence.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
