- Previous IHS experience a plus

Nurse Practitioner with strong background in Family or Internal Medicine
- The Practitioner will provide a full range of Medical services including evaluation, diagnosis, consultation & referral, specialty referrals for outpatients of all ages.
- The Practitioner shall counsel and educate patients, families, community and medical staff about general health care.
- The Practitioner shall make referral recommendations to the Clinical Director as required ensuring appropriate specialty care, follow-up, continuity of care and ensuring appropriated forms are completed.
- The Practitioner shall regularly record patient contacts in the appropriate medical record s outlined by Bylaws.
- The Practitioner will enter consults/referrals for other services such as; Purchased Referred Care, Behavioral Health, Social Services, Optometry, Audiology, Dietary and Public Health Nursing where appropriate.
- The Practitioner shall provide patient management for appropriate follow-up and care either at a scheduled clinic, walk-ins or for a contract health referral.
- The Practitioner shall interview and examine patients, review past medical history and request and/ or perform diagnostic tests and examinations as necessary to make diagnosis for primary care services. They make diagnosis after evaluating information obtained and provide medical or surgical treatment and/ or referral as appropriate.
- The practitioner shall prescribe drugs and tests necessary to provide including the use of radiology and laboratory.
- The practitioner shall become familiar with and be guided by the Indian Health Service formulary and shall follow IHS procedures when prescribing drugs.
- The practitioner authorized to prescribe pharmaceuticals shall do so according to the availability of drugs listed in the IHS formulary.
- IHS pharmacy services will provide instructions to the prescribing contract physician as to substitution of generic drugs for prescribed drugs The service unit pharmacy must approve drugs not on the formulary.
- The Practitioner shall participate in a continual process of quality of health care evaluation to assure the provision of quality service.
- The Practitioner shall comply with all IHS facility infection control and safety procedures, practices, and standards.
- The Practitioner shall respect and maintain the basic right of patients, to include but not limited to personal dignity.

Requirements
Please provide/upload the following documents along with your application-
- Current, active, full, and unrestricted NP license or registration from any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- Current BLS required
- ACLS & PALS preferred
- Certification of Education - copy of diploma or transcripts
- 2- 3 years of experience in diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions preferred
