The City of Napervilles Water Utility is currently seeking a
self-motivated Administrative Assistant I to be a vital team member in
providing customer service to the public. The Administrative Assistant I
supports four division supervisors in the following sections: Collection
& Pumping, Distribution & Metering, Repair & Excavation, and Water
Supply. This role also serves the general needs of the Water Utility.
The selected incumbent will report to (and receive training and daily
direction from) a senior administrative professional.
The normal schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. It is
critical that applicants be able to multitask while providing a high
level of customer service to all stakeholders, including residents, and
be able to respond to inquires and resolve concerns both in-person and
over the telephone.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is \$19.4345 -
\$24.5496 per year, commensurate with credentials and experience. The

Duties
Prepares and processes documents and spreadsheets related to
functions such as purchasing, personnel, payroll, bids,
reimbursements, and budget.
Enters, retrieves, and maintains electronic data.
Creates and maintains physical files.
Locates and retrieves information from City records, electronic or
physical, as requested by customers or staff.
Prepares correspondence, memos, reports, lists, minutes, and other
documents as directed.
Purchases office supplies for a division. Monitors and maintains
supply inventory.
Performs general clerical tasks including faxing, photocopying, and
collating.
Sorts and distributes mail for a division.
Answers and directs phone calls. Responds to general inquiries.
May maintain managers calendar and schedule activities.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
A high school diploma or equivalent.
One to three years of experience providing administrative support.
A valid State of Illinois Class D drivers license.
