Description
The Propane Service Technician is responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of propane systems for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. This role ensures customer satisfaction through technical excellence, adherence to safety standards, and superior service delivery.
- Install, maintain, and repair propane tanks, gas lines, regulators, and related equipment.
- Conduct leak checks, pressure tests, and safety inspections according to company and regulatory standards.
- Respond to service calls for equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and emergency support.
- Perform appliance installation and conversions (e.g., ranges, water heaters, dryers) to propane systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including service orders, inspection reports, and compliance forms.
- Educate customers on proper system usage, safety procedures, and maintenance requirements.
- Uphold all applicable federal, state, and local codes, as well as company policies and safety practices.
- Maintain and inspect service vehicles, tools, and inventory to ensure readiness and compliance.
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergency service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred.
- Minimum of [1–3] years of experience in propane service, HVAC, plumbing, or a related field.
- Basic mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation manuals.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
