The principal function of this role is to participate in the various
work of the inspection team in all aspects of the inspection operation
to ensure compliance with all the established policies and procedures
and Federal and State rules and regulations. Performs a variety of
general, skilled, and specialized tasks and acts as a member of the
inspection team. Must have demonstrated skills in human relations and
dispute resolution, and a willingness to apply independent judgment and
decision-making to resolve non-routine issues that may arise. Informs
and assists citizens, developers, and business owners with issues
related to the City\'s building code requirements, building inspections,
and other requirements. Contributes to the development and
implementation of policies, standards, and guidelines.\

ROLE SUCCESS PROFILE\

Key Job Accountabilities:\
Provides an overall view of daily and in-progress inspections and field
corrections to the supervisor.\
Provides effective professional liaison between the Department and other
City Departments, representatives from public agencies, area businesses,
and the public.\
Compose and prepare correspondence, memos, reports, and other materials
related to inspections.\
Performs inspections for non-permitted work and dangerous building
conditions.\
Interprets and applies departmental or office rules, policies, and
regulations under prescribed procedures and guidelines.\
Responds to citizen complaints related to field inspection activities.\
Develops, analyzes, and defends program documentation, project reports,
and legal positions associated with the codes, policies, and
ordinances.\
Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions and
reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain
current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work
areas.\
Possesses a customer-focused attitude with a results-driven approach to
problem-solving.\
Adaptability to work independently in the field on complex assignments
and collaboratively with inspection staff.\
