Description We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Sales & Use Tax Accountant to join our team. Based in Saint Louis, Missouri, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with sales and property tax regulations. This role involves managing tax filings, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate tax records.
Responsibilities
Prepare and file sales and property tax returns in compliance with applicable regulations.
Review and analyze tax data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
Utilize tools such as CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax for efficient tax processing.
Monitor monthly sales tax obligations and ensure timely submissions.
Address compliance issues related to sales and property tax filings.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary documentation for tax filings.
Maintain organized and detailed records of all tax-related activities.
Leverage Vertex Sales & Use Tax software to support tax calculation and reporting tasks.
Research and stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations impacting the organization.
Assist in clearing backlog property tax filings and ensuring all accounts are up to date. Requirements - Proficiency in CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax software.
Strong understanding of accounting functions and principles.
Expertise in sales tax compliance and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to prepare and file sales tax returns accurately.
Experience managing monthly sales tax processes and reconciliations.
Knowledge of Vertex Sales & Use Tax software and its application.
Ability to analyze and resolve sales tax-related issues efficiently.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Capability to stay updated on changes in tax laws and ensure compliance.
