The AMI Operator is responsible to the AMI Supervisor for monitoring the day-to-day operations of the Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Meter Data Management System (MDM). Performs duties related to service order distribution, resolution, and follow-up.
Duties involve high attention to detail. A wide range of procedures are used, and the position requires analysis of facts to determine what action should be taken when issues are identified. Reviews AMI network alarms, events, and reports issues from the AMI or MDM to determine the course of remediation. Works with different personnel to support the AMI and MDM system. Assists personnel with analysis of AMI meter data reporting and analytics.
This is a NON- EXEMPT onsite position at our Sedalia office with no remote or h ybrid work options available.
You will...
Duties are semi-routine and involve decision-making for the application of various procedures and prescribed standard practices.
Plan, arrange, and complete own work. Additionally, you will work closely with others as necessary to resolve issues.
Monitor the AMI and MDM systems to identify deficiencies via reports, events, alarms, real-time data, or outside processes for abnormal conditions.
Conduct continuous testing for NISC, Itron, and various meter programs/firmware.
Oversee and deploy meter programs remotely.
Prioritize/categorizes incidents and initiates corrective actions.
Work with various CORE business groups to resolve AMI problems.
Monitor meter data, including validation, estimation, and editing the (VEE) MDM process.
Create help desk tickets and routes to the appropriate group (both internal and external) for resolution based on the exception @type.
Validate installation status of meters using various reports and systems; identify non-communicating meters and resolves discrepancies.
Verify meter provisioning on the AMI network and processes exceptions related to validation of data from AMI meters.
Work with confidential data concerning customer accounts, which, if disclosed, could be detrimental to the CORE's interests.
Perform remote meter actions, including connect, disconnect, pings, and traceroutes.
Perform other duties as needed and/or as directed.

High school diploma or equivalent certificate is required.
Two (2) years of experience in enterprise systems or related fields or a combination of education, training, and experience that provides equivalent knowledge.
Ability to research, analyze, and troubleshoot.
Working knowledge of PC computers, including Microsoft Office software; ability to quickly learn new software and programs.
Strong written and verbal communication is a must.
Ability to work as part of a team, maintain a good work ethic, and be a self-starter.
Basic aptitude in verbal comprehension, verbal reasoning, numerical ability, and visual speed/accuracy.
Requires valid Colorado driver's license with a satisfactory driving record within Cooperative standards.
Satisfactory background check results.
Satisfactory results of a pre-employment drug screen.
Salary Range : $32.13 - $42.79 per hour
