Perform duties that are semi-routine involving an intensive practical knowledge of duties related to electric power lines. Most duties are performed within the limits of standard practice but there are occasions where a variety of procedures could be used, and judgment must be considered to determine what action should be taken. A supervisor may not always be present, thus requiring independent action by the Lineman. The Line Superintendent provides supervision to ensure that all job requirements are accomplished. When working on a crew, general guidance and direction are received from the Working Foreman. When engaged in service work, the employee plans and arranges own work receiving only general direction from the Line Superintendent.
