The Electrical Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for driving technical design quality Electrical Engineering. The SME works closely with engineers during the design process, ensuring design accuracy and compliance with original scope, customer specifications, and standard builds utilization. They are the main communication and collaboration driver with R&D for technical topics and are experts in Material Handling Applications and the Intelligrated product portfolio. The SME also leads technical escalation resolution when critical issues arise on project sites by leveraging the escalation and troubleshooting playbook.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Design Quality
Enforce technical design standards within Electrical Engineering.
Drive technical design quality within their specific discipline, ensuring designs are accurate and compliant with original scope, customer specifications, and standard builds utilization
Work together with engineers during the design process on an iterative basis, providing guidance and expertise
Work closely with other functional SMEs to ensure quality turnover.
Design Reviews
Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards
Take accountability for the accuracy and quality of the design, addressing any issues or discrepancies that arise
Hold technical design sign-off authority and accountability, ensuring that all designs meet the required standards before final approval
Collaboration with R&D
Act as the main communication and collaboration driver with R&D for technical topics related to product identified dependencies, issues, and modifications
Drive the inclusion of new and modified products in the configuration tools to ensure readiness for PE implementations
Ensure alignment between project engineering and R&D, facilitating the exchange of technical knowledge and best practices
Technical Expertise
Serve as a fundamental technical expert within their discipline, providing deep knowledge and insights into Material Handling Applications and the Intelligrated product portfolio
Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in their field of expertise
Technical Escalation Resolution
Lead technical escalation resolution when critical issues arise on project sites, leveraging the escalation and troubleshooting playbook
Provide timely and effective solutions to technical problems, minimizing project disruptions and ensuring customer satisfaction
Mentorship and Development
Mentor and develop engineers within their discipline, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance the team's technical capabilities
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the team
Engineering Design Standards and Processes
Drive EE engineering process development and maintenance.
Work closely with EE manager to develop and maintain department standards.
Work closely with R&D to develop new product standards to help reduce engineering project cost.
