Job Title: Electrical Technician
Weekly Pay- up to $40/hr (depending on experience)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Instrument/Electrical Technician (IET) to join our Subsea Robotics (SSR) team. In this role, you will be responsible for electronic assembly startup, calibration, functional and safety testing on electrical and electronic systems for subsea vehicles, as well as support and test equipment. You will play a critical role in the production and repair of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), performing tasks such as cabinet wiring, cable creation, and troubleshooting various electromechanical assemblies.
Responsibilities
Assemble and install new electrical and electronic assemblies, wire harnesses, and other electrical equipment from electrical schematics and component layout diagrams.
Maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair existing electrical and electronic assemblies.
Assist in subsea vehicle testing and maintenance.
Maintain a tidy work environment and adhere to industry regulations.
Travel to support subsea operations and field repair, anticipated to be less than 20% of the time.
Build and install electrical components for vehicles, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical systems.
Support the electrical design, production, and support for new AUV development.
Create and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Essential Skills
Minimum of five to seven (5 to 7) years of experience as an instrument electrical technician.
Extensive knowledge of electrical power and control systems.
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, and installation/instruction manuals.
Proficiency with test equipment such as multimeters, process meters, and oscilloscopes.
Experience in underwater vehicle production and repair, including AUVs or ROVs.
Understanding and troubleshooting of serial and other communications such as RS232, CANbus, and Ethernet.
Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
Knowledge of single-board computers, PLCs, and analog and digital I/O modules.
Experience with instrumentation such as pressure and temperature sensors.
Ability to create sketches of cable assemblies or circuits and provide mark-ups to existing schematics.
Ability to assist with preparing documentation such as assembly procedures and safety standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in heavy industrial environments is preferred.
Proficiency in assembling and installing electrical panels, wire harnesses, and other electrical equipment.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints.
Experience in the installation of automated and/or robotics equipment.
Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, RS232, RS282, RS485.
Experience troubleshooting analog circuits, Ethernet systems, serial bus, and communications equipment.
Experience with small box assembly, electrical panels, and electrical wiring.

Work Environment
This is a Monday-Friday day shift role requiring onsite presence from 9 am to 3 pm, with some flexibility in hours. Travel to our testing site in Panama City Beach is required once a quarter for up to 14 days. The role involves physically demanding tasks, including carrying heavy items and being comfortable on boats. The work environment is climate-controlled, and you will be part of a team of three plus additional engineers. The dress code includes steel-toe shoes, pants or shorts (no baggy clothing), and plain t-shirts. Long hair or beards must be tied back.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.80 - $72.00/hr.
