Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled pension administrative assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
Independently processing pension applications on defined benefit plans and handling inquiries on pension benefits
Responding to telephone calls, walk-in visits, and written requests from participants, unions, and Trustees
Preparing and organizing appeals
Analyzing records and related reports to determine proper action within the limits of Plan rules
Communicating verbally and in writing to explain and interpret plan procedures and rules
Disbursing monthly and/or weekly checks and balancing check registers on a monthly basis
Preparing various trust reports annually and monthly
Implementing Plan policies and procedures
Performing other duties within classification as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Preferred pension analyst experience demonstrating the ability to handle multiple deadlines, work independently, and resolve problems with minimal supervision
Knowledge, skill, and ability equivalent to a high school diploma
Effective oral and written communication skills
Preferred experience using a PC and knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing applications, preferably Excel and Word
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
