Job Summary: This will be HVAC / Electrical Apprentice Technician position reporting to the Facilities Manager. This apprenticeship will be a two-year program, with quarterly review. The job will include assisting with maintaining facilities equipment, performing preventative maintenance activities, assisting and leading facility projects, providing support for general plumbing, building and floor painting, carpentry, general building upkeep, Ice makers, Chiller water system, HVAC units, Access control, Plants security cameras, Time clocks, Plant clocks, AC registers and energy savings initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Provide support and assistance for the facilities technician, maintenance technician, and other key departmental personnel on Trane Lynn Haven facilities building and equipment.
Assist in performing daily work orders associated with supporting the maintenance department including HVAC facilities equipment troubleshooting, plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical installation, sprinkler system repair, plant roll up doors, landscape, compressed air systems, access control, troubleshooting replacing security cameras, gas supply systems, etc.
Support facilities equipment preventative maintenance plans including hands on part replacement and general equipment upkeep including scheduling and working with contractor services.
Assist with facility equipment installations and decommissioning including preparing task lists, site preparation, and infrastructure development.
Participate in project work including facility equipment improvements, system upgrades, Energy Savings projects, air leak identification and repair.
Assist with maintaining facility equipment including troubleshooting and repair of key systems including compressed air, H2N2 supply, Natural gas supply, Helium supply/reclaim, and Refrigerant systems.
Perform daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual inspection of facility equipment and facility systems
Provide daily support to other facility team members to accomplish project work requiring additional resources
General upkeep and cleanliness of the Facility and grounds as needed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Required.
College course work completion including an AA degree in technical field of study is also a plus
HVAC certification is a plus
Electrician certification is a plus
Key Competencies:
Demonstrated Troubleshooting skills and experience with Trane owned facility equipment and processes.
Experience with a broad range of industrial tools including hand tools, conduit bending, pipe threading, fabrication equipment, PIV's, Scissor Lifts, and rental equipment.
Basic welding, brazing, and fabrication experience is a plus.
Must be able to demonstrate limited experience with the following skill sets - plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, and PM system familiarization.
Demonstrated team leadership skills and experience with team assisted troubleshooting, team project work, and cross shift assignments.
Basic understanding in the following competencies: leading personnel, planning and organizing, judgement/decision making, communication skills, project management
Must be willing to work flexible hours and OT to support installations and repairs on non-production days and off-shift projects
