Strategic Space Systems Division has an opening for a Principal Electrical Engineer/ Electrical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California. This role requires a solid foundation and understanding of testing in the IT&L environment.
Responsibilities:
Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints
Leads and develops an expert understanding of your assigned subsystems, and utilize test infrastructure to dry run and execute system level verification.
Role entails collaboration with various disciplines at the element, subsystems, and unit level through multiple working groups to refine requirements & verification, interfaces, test equipment and test methodology.
Performs troubleshooting and resolution of HW/SW configuration issues on systems to resolve issues related to system functionality
Generates test products and automated test scripts for System Level Testing
Adheres to and maintains processes and procedures for the assembly integration and test of space vehicles
Ability to adapt to changing test environment and able provide solutions to meet schedule and cost
Will be able to support multiple shifts and weekends, and offsite travel
Specifics of responsibilities can be tailored based on grade level and relevant experience of selected candidate
This position will require occasionally working shift work and overtime. Additionally, the nature of this position requires individuals to be comfortable working full time in a classified development environment; cell phones or personal electronic devices are prohibited within these areas.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
Electrical Test Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline plus 2 years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 0 years of engineering experience
Experience with Integration and Test campaigns
Active DoD Secret security clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance
Principal Electrical Test Engineer
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline plus 5 years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 3 years of engineering experience OR PhD Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 0 years of engineering experience
Experience with Integration and Test campaigns
Active DoD Secret security clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of spacecraft production processes and procedures
Possess strong leadership qualities, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
Active DoD Top Secret/SSBI and/or Active SCI
Integration & Test experience
Ability to operate in a large Integration and Test environment with multiple disciplines
Ability to function as a member of a large team
Experience with RF Test Equipment, RF, and DC cables
Experience with Commanding & Data Handling
Experience with Electrical Power Subsystems
Experience troubleshooting anomalous hardware and software
Experience in test script development
Basic Programming Skills in one or more of these areas: Python, C, Matlab, Excel
Excellent communication skills

Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Salary Range 2: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
