Position Overview
They are seeking a results-oriented Sales Associate to join their growing sales organization. This individual will work in close collaboration with the Business Development Representative (BDR) to convert qualified leads into clients and to drive new business through direct sales, channel partnerships, and strategic networking. You will be responsible for pursuing marketing-qualified leads, driving them through the sales process, and closing deals before transitioning them to the implementation team.
The ideal candidate thrives in a consultative sales environment, is comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers, and excels at managing a structured sales process from initial discovery to signed contract.
This role is pivotal in turning early-stage interest into closed deals by effectively communicating value, addressing objections, and building trust with prospects. The Sales Associate will serve as a key liaison between prospective clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring a smooth and professional sales experience aligned with our client’s high standards and brand promise.
This position will report to the Executive Director who leads our enterprise revenue strategy as well as operations and fulfillment. This is a salaried role, with the opportunity to earn uncapped commission based on individual performance.
While our client's corporate office is in downtown Houston, they are flexible on location for the best candidate. Occasional travel may be required for this role to close deals and cultivate client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Management & Sales Execution
- Generate qualified leads that meet client ICP and see those leads through to closed-won.
- Collaborate with the BDR to review and prioritize marketing-qualified and sales-qualified leads.
- Conduct introductory and discovery calls to understand prospect pain points, business goals, and decision-making criteria.
- Own the full sales cycle—from first conversation through proposal, negotiation, and close.
- Maintain a consultative, solutions-focused sales approach that aligns with client needs and business objectives.
Sales Collateral & Reporting
- Develop tailored pitch decks, proposals, and presentations in partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Track all sales activity in HubSpot to ensure accurate reporting, forecasting, and pipeline visibility.
- Generate sales reports to track performance, identify trends, and measure progress toward targets.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on deal status, sales metrics, and pipeline health.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Strategy
- Partner with marketing and operations teams to align on messaging, capabilities, and client communications.
- Participate in strategy sessions to improve outbound and inbound motions, messaging, and conversion rates.
- Analyze won and lost opportunities to refine sales approaches and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide market feedback to product, marketing, and leadership teams to inform strategic decisions.
Channel Development & Brand Representation
- Identify, engage, and manage channel partners, referral networks, and strategic ecosystem collaborators.
- Build and nurture a pipeline of partnerships that support revenue growth and market expansion.
- Actively represent the company at industry events, local networking functions, conferences, and community forums.
- Serve as a visible and credible brand ambassador, ensuring representation aligns with company positioning and voice.
Market Awareness & Performance
- Stay informed on industry trends, client business models, and competitive landscape to inform outreach and positioning.
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets and KPIs.
- Collaborate with the BDR to review and prioritize marketing-qualified and sales-qualified leads.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven and seasoned sales success in the B2B technology services industry with prior or related sales experience
- Hunter-mentality competitiveness, with a passion for growing a portfolio and chasing new business opportunities
- Consultative sales approach with experience selling to director or executive leadership
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, including highly effective oral and written communication skills, group and individual presentation, persuasion, and customer service skills
- Strong business acumen and understanding of B2B buying behavior with the ability to understand complex business problems that can be solved by implementing innovative digital solutions
- Experience building sales proposals, presentations, and co-branded materials with partners.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage high-level stakeholders.
- Comfortable representing the company at external events, including conferences, meetups, and local networking functions.
- High degree of professionalism and executive presence.
- Autonomous and goal-motivated.
Preferred
- Prior experience working with channel partners or managing co-selling relationships is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with the software development industry
- Working knowledge of HubSpot and/or Asana
- Well-connected with existing relationships in the corporate tech services market
