About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Vice CTO - Logistics & Mail to lead and drive the strategic direction of our company's technology initiatives within the logistics and mail sector. This critical role will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of cutting-edge IT solutions that optimize operations, enhance customer experience, and drive business growth
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute the long-term IT strategy for the logistics and mail sector, aligning with overall business objectives.
- Oversee the development and implementation of innovative IT solutions, including but not limited to:
- Mail Sorting Systems: Design, implement, and maintain efficient mail sorting systems to improve processing speed and accuracy.
- Route Optimization Tools: Develop and implement sophisticated algorithms to optimize delivery routes, minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.
- Real-time Tracking Systems: Lead the development and implementation of robust real-time tracking systems for all shipments, providing customers with up-to-date visibility and enhancing transparency.
- Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements in the logistics and mail industry, including AI/ML, blockchain, IoT, and cloud computing.
- Operational Excellence:
- Lead and manage a high-performing team of IT professionals, including software engineers, data scientists, and system administrators.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Manage IT budgets and resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization and return on investment.
- Drive continuous improvement in IT processes and procedures, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and customer service, to ensure alignment of IT initiatives with business goals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and data privacy standards
- Change Management:
- Lead and manage the implementation of significant IT-related change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and minimizing disruption to business operations.
- Develop and execute comprehensive change management plans, including communication, training, and support. o Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the IT department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 5 years of specific experience in the logistics, transportation, or postal operations sector.
- Proven experience in leading and managing large-scale IT projects, including mail sorting systems, route optimization tools, and real-time tracking systems.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and cloud computing.
- Excellent knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and project management best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AI/ML, blockchain, IoT, and other emerging technologies.
- Experience with data analytics and business intelligence.
- Experience with cybersecurity and data privacy best practices.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
