Job description Morrissey Inc., an employee-owned corporation founded in 1946, specializes in complex precision custom metal stamping, assemblies, and fabrication for the Military, Medical, Automotive, and Vending Industries. We have various different pieces of equipment that range from Punch Presses, Welding Equipment, CNC Machinery, and Laser Equipment. We are currently looking for a 1st Shift - Tool Maker for our Bloomington, Minnesota facility. Schedule: Monday Friday, 6:45 AM 3:15 PM. Pay range: $32 - $38/hour Position Overview: This individual is responsible for planning, designing, constructing or repairing a variety of intricate and complicated tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures to tight tolerances. Does highly skilled fitting, adjusting and timing. Performs difficult tool room machine operation and tool repair and maintenance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Following company standard layout practices, makes layout design from blueprints, tooling and makes parts for customer specifications. Checks for layout accuracy from quoted job. Plans the setup and operation of all @types of machine shop tools, considering @types of material, tolerances, @types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants, and machine tool feeds and speeds. Obtains correct steel and prepares material by using milling, drilling, tapping and grinding. Prepares materials for electrical discharge machine. Sets up, runs off, and tests dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same. Develops new form tools to assure part accuracy to print. Line-up tooling, mounting into plates/die sets. Responsible for tool maintenance by sharpening, repairing, etc.
