Overview
This is a full-time, salaried staff chaplain position with benefits. This Staff Chaplain assists the Director of Pastoral Care and works within the Department of Pastoral Care to meet the spiritual, emotional, and psychological needs of patients, families, and staff, and to fulfill the mission of the institution. The Staff Chaplain also assists the Director of Pastoral Care in providing pastoral services to patients, staff, and patients' families, including spiritual counseling, guidance, and comfort. Provides counseling to the patients, families and employees through routine and/or referral visitation, crisis and bereavement counseling, support groups, patient education as well as worship services to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of the patients/families/employees. Under the general direction of the Director of Pastoral Care, 5 days/week, 24 hours/day. Incumbent is subject to overtime and callback as required by BMH-DeSoto. Performs other functions as required by the Director of Pastoral Care and Administration of the hospital.
