We are hiring for a Safety & Claims Administrator in Sacramento, CA or Long Beach, CA.
Success in the position is achieved through the following duties & responsibilities:
Claims Administration
Manages and oversees all aspects of workers' compensation, automotive, general liability and builders risk claims to reduce costs and improve outcomes.
Ensure that claims are handled efficiently, promptly, and in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
Coordinates with injured workers, medical providers, treating physicians, claims adjusters, Nurse Case Managers, legal counsel, clients' insurance programs and internal personnel to ensure timely resolution, proper documentation and appropriate cost controls.
Tracking claim trends, monitor claim costs, and work to minimize liabilities while supporting a safe and healthy work environment.
After an incident, serve as main point of contact for field supervisors providing guidance to minimize exposure and promote healthy outcomes.
Automobile accident damage under the insurance deductible, work with customer and vendors to satisfactory resolution.
Communicates post-incident activities promptly to limit lost time, if modified or restricted duty is proper works to ensure compliance.
Manages the Company's return-to-work programs including collaboration with safety department and field operations.
Ensure field supervisors have current knowledge of restricted and modified duty arrangements.
Collects and organizes all incident and claims paperwork to include incident reports, claim and medical status reports and related documentation.
Sets designated clinics for all projects. Sets up post incident treatment protocols with all clinics.
Determines best approach to vehicle & property repair and manages same.
Submits claims to carriers in accordance with insurance protocols.
Safety Support
Tracks and reports safety and claims statistics on a consistent basis and produces executive safety committee reports.
Maintains OSHA 300 logs as well as safety performance statistics (TRIR, LWDIR, DART, etc.)
Supports department with audit tracking, reporting and presentations.
Assists in safety training assignments, reporting and tracking.
Assists in developing training & communication materials.
With the safety team, maintains, and updates all corporate safety policies including electronic publishing and distribution.
Participates in occupational clinic selection for best treatment and partnership outcomes.
Renews OSHA permits annually as required.
Stay current on safety updates that may impact on the company.
Special projects and assignments may be requested.

Requirements
Education & Experience
Experience with Workers Compensation and other specified claims management.
Construction company experience a plus.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
Five (5) years of multi-state claims handling experience with construction company, insurance carrier, third party administrator or insurance broker or experience in analyst role in similar operating environment.
Current and relevant certifications a plus.
Required Skills & Abilities
Analytical skills required to assemble and interpret claims, metrics and loss data, and produce regular reports showing status of cases and trends.
Strong attention to detail, including regular follow-up on action items. Team player with the ability to work in fast paced environment, handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
Proficient in software applications, including Excel and Word, as well as other databases, systems and software programs that are commonly utilized in the field.
Must interpret and analyze investigative, medical, legal and other reports.
Able to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion.
Able to handle sensitive / confidential information with discretion.
Excellent oral and written communications, including presentation skills.
Excellent interpersonal and time management skills as well as a high degree of sound judgment, discretion, and initiative.
Willingness and ability to collaborate with stakeholders to maximize most positive outcomes.
A sense of urgency, flexibility, adaptability to constant change, attention to details, follow through, and an attitude of service, cooperation, quality and continuous improvement in work processes and output.
Local and overnight travel may be required.
Salary Range:
$80,000/year - $95,000/year
This is a non-exempt position
