team, the Electrical Control Staff Engineer will be responsible for
designing, developing, implementing, and testing PLC (Programmable Logic
Controllers) and HMI (Human Machine Interface) programs for complex
switchgear systems. The Electrical Control Staff Engineer will play a
key role in developing and maintaining automation solutions for our
products to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our
switchgear systems. The Electrical Control Staff Engineer will possess
strong technical expertise in industrial automation. Relocation
assistance to Kohler WI is available! Responsibilities: Develop,
implement, and optimize PLC programs for controlling switchgear and
related equipment, including integration with protection, control, and
monitoring systems. Design and configure user-friendly HMIs for
system control, monitoring, and diagnostics, ensuring intuitive
interfaces and accurate representation of system parameters. Work in
a team environment to develop software requirements, architecture, and
structure. Work closely with electrical engineers, project managers,
and field technicians to ensure smooth integration of PLC/HMI systems
with switchgear, control panels, and other automation equipment.
Perform detailed troubleshooting and diagnostics for PLC and HMI systems
in the event of malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid
resolution. Identify, track, and correct software defects. Produce
comprehensive documentation, including program code, wiring diagrams,
HMI layouts, system configuration, and user manuals. Assist in the
commissioning of PLC/HMI systems at client sites, ensuring full
functionality, safety, and compliance with industry standards. Keep
up to date with modern technologies, industry standards, and best
practices to suggest improvements to current systems and processes. \
Estimate software tasks for scheduling purposes. \ Review and markup
design drawings, bills of materials and sequences of operations for
switchgear control systems. Work on special projects as dictated by
the needs of the department. Requirements: Bachelor\'s in science or
a or Masters in Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering,
or Computer Science 7 years of software development experience
required 3-5 years of experience leading small technical teams.
Experience in generating formal system requirements and specifications.
