Connexus Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineer. This role will prepare engineering plans, operational studies, and distribution system changes and perform to provide a safe, reliable, and economical distribution system design and operation, applying sound engineering practices.
Location:
Work for this position can be performed both on-site at our campus located at 14601 Ramsey Blvd, Ramsey, MN 55303, and from your local home office as duties require. While this position is designated as a hybrid role, based on current policy, hires must reside in or relocate within commuting distance to our office in Ramsey, MN.
Compensation:
The anticipated hiring range for this role is between $76,000 and $99,750 annually. The final compensation offered is based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience and skill level. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 8% of annual earnings based on company performance.
In this position you will:
Ensure that Connexus members are provided with reliable, quality power by being responsive to customer concerns regarding power quality, collaborating cross-functionally, and performing site visits.
Assist in providing conceptual layout for large commercial, industrial and residential developments to ensure the progression of such developments is constructed in an efficient manner (projects are generally
Assist in integrating distributed energy resources (DER) into the Connexus Energy System to ensure reliability, power quality, and system safety are maintained.
Perform various studies and analyses to define projects to ensure system capacity, power factor, and voltage is adequate. Analyze system using system analysis software as well as SCADA, AMI, and other data as appropriate.
Assist in producing distribution system designs for system improvements projects and road construction projects to ensure the projects are in conformance to long range plans and integrated into the overall system plan.
Assist in the development of and document engineering practices and standards and assist in authoring technical documents.
Need to have:
Bachelor's in electrical engineering with power systems emphasis
Current and valid driver's license
Nice to have:
Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) Certificate
Ability to understand, interpret, and apply codes and standards to applicable situations
Ability to learn specific application software such as metering information, power flow, work order and mapping systems
Understand the operation of electrical distribution system and associated equipment
Microsoft Office software skills including Word, Excel, Outlook
Experience with electric system modeling software
Drafting experience such as with CAD software
