Service Assembler II at DICKEY-johnis expected to repair and
calibrate assigned instruments under supervision. The Service Assembler
II may be assigned to perform basic soldering, mechanical disassembly or
reassembly, troubleshooting and service responsibilities. They must be
willing and able to perform a variety of duties within the assigned
production/service areas as required.
What Will You Do?
Perform calibrations within an ISO 17025 Accredited Lab.
Under general supervision, performs service and calibration
operations at a work station or bench using basic hand tools and
calibration equipment.
Work together with assigned group to complete service orders by the
expected date.
May do hand soldering, work under microscopes, or do rework and
repairs on standard assemblies.
Perform calibrations and variables testing requiring judgment to
assure conformance to specifications.
May sign off for certification of instruments.
Perform troubleshooting and repairs with assistance.
Perform standard and non-standard setups exercising judgment in
adjusting and documenting changes.
Verify part quality.
Use keyboard and computer terminal to enter data into the SAP
screens as required.
Actively participate in process improvement and recommend changes to
manufacturing procedures.
Perform daily organization and cleanup of work area.
Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to
supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience
Minimum of one year of experience in a production/manufacturing
environment. Requires soldering and/or microscope experience. Some cells
will require additional and/or specific @types of assembly experience.
Example: small parts mechanical assembly, high volume assembly, sensor
mounting.
KNOWLEDGE
Basic computer skills including the ability to check reports and
record information. Entry level SAP.
Ability to train others on standard procedures and assemblies.
Proficient at addition, subtraction, multiplication, and making
measurements.
Proficient at reading instructions and procedures.
General working knowledge of measuring devices and test equipment.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED
Must be able to:
Operate computer and other electronic equipment for testing and
calibrating.
Use hand and electric tools and manipulate small objects
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Work is typically performed in a standard production setting working at
a workstation or table on a level surface. Air quality and noise levels
are within normal limits. Eye protection is usually not required. Under
normal conditions, exposure to excessive noise, dust, humidity, and
fumes is rare. May be required to work more hours than normally expected
during a regular workweek depending on workload and deadline
requirements.
May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Some positions
require standing for extended periods of time. Requires moving/walking
in and out of work area to obtain materials, return materials, use
calibration or testing equipment, or forward finished products.
Position Type/Expeced Hours Of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday
through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.This position occasionally
requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
