Hiring 2nd Class Electricians - Shipyard - First Shift - Experience Required
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated marine electrical technician level I to undertake a variety of tasks related to the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic equipment onboard US Navy ships. The position involves assisting in the installation of electrical cabling, building and testing various electrical connectors, installing hardware, and troubleshooting malfunctions in different electrical and electronic systems. Due to the high-risk nature of this job, electricians must be responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate should be willing to learn different kinds of electrical devices and systems, with prior shipboard experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Assist in the execution of electrical installations for various systems such as lighting, MC systems, 115V/440V electrical plant equipment, Uninterrupted Power Supply equipment, Audio/Video equipment, and Antenna systems.
Install electrical cabinets, fixtures, and equipment for various electrical systems.
Install safety and distribution components, including switches, resistors, and circuit-breaker panels.
Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks using MIL-SPEC connectors and connection boxes.
Pull cables of various lengths and sizes to accommodate system connections.
Work shipboard availabilities with various teams.
Essential Skills
Experience with cable pulling and running wire.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting electrical systems.
Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior shipboard experience is preferred.
Experience in bending conduit.
Knowledge of working within shipyards.

Work Environment
Work will be performed at NASSCO, CMSD, and BAE yard. A NASSCO badge is required to start work. Additionally, work will occur at Naval Base San Diego. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 0600-1430, with occasional weekends as needed.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
