Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide administrative assistance to Tutoring Services.
Provide administrative assistance to the Tutoring Coordinator in
planning and coordinating Tutoring Program activities.
Alert the Coordinator on any service needs.
Represent Tutoring Program when the Coordinator is unavailable.
Provide day-to-day program support which includes assisting students
with forms completion, scheduling appointments, answering phones, word
processing, data entry, etc., to fulfill program objectives.
Serve as initial resource person for departmental questions and
problems.
Orient tutors working face-to-face and online regarding computer
software and recordkeeping aspects of their position.
Assist tutors in fulfilling duties and responsibilities; maintain
schedules.
Enter data into complex scheduling and tracking software and assist in
monitoring the software.
Assist in monitoring program usage by students.
Distribute surveys and tabulate results.
Assist in preparing reports.
Help maintain up-to-date mailing lists and databases.
Assist with mass mailings.
Design and distribute program publicity and advertisements.
Maintain confidential materials and files.
Assist in obtaining student usage data to determine staffing needs for
future terms.
Maintain a nightly check to verify tutors\' record keeping.
Advise the Coordinator of discrepancies.
Establish and implement new job-related procedures on an on-going basis
due to increased responsibilities.
Provide appropriate support to the Learning Commons, as needed,
including assisting students in determining the one or more services in
the Learning Commons which meet their needs.
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
High school graduate required.
Associate Degree in Office Technology preferred.
Experience
Minimum one (1) year of previous office experience.
Proficiency in written and spoken English required.
Experience working well in a fast-paced, service-oriented office
required; proven ability to prioritize work required.
Perform multiple, detail-oriented tasks with constant
interruptions required.
Experience working with underrepresented and disabled
individuals preferred.
Experience with conflict resolution preferred.
Problem solving skills a plus.
Working Conditions:
PC, Microsoft Office, AccuTrack software, Internet, Skype, E-Mail,
printer, calculator, copier, multi-line telephone, fax, etc.
General office environment with morning, afternoon, evening and weekend
hours.
This position requires a background check and drug screen.
Hiring Range:
Starting pay begins at \$20.14/hr. based on experience.
Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
