This position serves as the Management Systems Specialist for the
Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Illinois
Department of Corrections (IDOC). In this role,you will provide high
level technical assistance to agency management in the development,
analysis, interpretation, evaluation, modification, and installation of
comprehensive management information systems such as Offender Tracking
System, Client/Server PC Applications, SharePoint sites, Enterprise
Applications, and online applications. In addition, you will conduct
and/or coordinate complex, in-depth management studies involving
extensive technical research and systems analysis of agency
administrative functions.
Essential Functions
Subject to management approval, serves as the Management Systems
Specialist for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT),
supporting the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC), providing
high-level technical assistance to agency management in the
development, analysis, interpretation, evaluation, modification, and
installation of comprehensive management information systems.
Interfaces with users to ensure required information is delivered to
staff to assist with new projects and establishes and coordinates
time frames for all Information Services related projects.
Implements technological advances in the systems as changes become
necessary and beneficial and confers with management regarding
recommended changes.
Coordinates the activities of Applications Development staff engaged
in performing a full range of functions including programming,
system analysis, design, and development to ensure maintenance and
enhancement of systems.
Serves as full line supervisor.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably
within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
